The existence of the Biodistretto
The San Gimignano Organic District: Biodistretto wishes to recreate close relation between the urban and the rural, giving back the countryside the role of the protagonist competting to protect the environment and the landscape, the production of healthy and “local” food and the maintenance of precious cultural traditions that are productive for all.
The ideology
Our vision is one of an organic territoriality and community based on a social and ecological conception that understands the earth, air, water, forests, agricultural biodiversity, flora and wildlife, as priceless and communal heritage, on which the life and future of each of us depend.
This is why we want to manage the natural heritage, enhance it, and protect it in everyone’s interest, with the responsible involvement of all citizens.
